The incident took place around 12:15 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 16 in Litchfield County at the CVS located at 266 West Street in the Town of Litchfield, said the Connecticut State Police.

Troopers said the crash occurred when for "some unknown reason," Litchfield County resident Rose Ryan, age 73, of Litchfield, drove into the west wall of the building knocking over numerous displays and shelving.

When Ryan drove into the building a shopper inside, identified as Chantel Aviles, age 20, of Waterbury, was trapped under the front of the Prius and some shelving and had to be removed by emergency personnel, state police said.

Both women received minor injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

The crash is still under investigation.
